SCDA Waste Pesticide Disposal Collection

The South Carolina Department of Agriculture is offering several opportunities through the Waste Pesticide Disposal Program to safely dispose of outdated, unusable or unwanted pesticides.

The pesticide and chemical program is open to all private, commercial and non-commercial pesticide applicators in the state, as well as residents and farmers from any SC County. SCDA staff will be on site to monitor pesticide collection and disposal, and will have final authority on acceptance of products.

The following October pesticide and chemical collection dates and locations are open only to residents and farmers from any South Carolina County.

Online Verifiable Training


As you know, uncertified technicians working in South Carolina are required to carry ID cards signifying successful completion of the training program. This process has been accomplished through your administration of the training and testing utilizing a printed study guide and workbook at your office location.

The online study and testing procedure is fully explained on the site and, after completion, a downloadable ID card with a designated ID number will be available to print. The new online training will allow the technician to access their tests from any computer and will allow them to log off and log in at their convenience. Upon completion, the test result will automatically transmit to the S.C. Department of Pesticide Regulation, relieving you of the necessity to register the technician with regulatory.


The cost for the ONLINE TRAINING is as follows:

• $50.00 for SCPCA members

• $75.00 for non members

The PRINTED MATERIAL version is also still available. The cost is as follows:

• $75.00 for SCPCA members

• $100.00 for non members

This cost includes both the study guide.
