Hall of Fame
In 1985, Mr. Mark Salter, Sales Manager for Forshaw Distribution, approached the Board suggesting the foundation of a Pest
Control "Hall of Fame." Mr. Salter and Forshaw felt that some special recognition of those in industry and aligned fields
who had made special contributions was warranted.
Forshaw proposed to fund the permanent award vehicle (Large Plaque Board) and the individual awards for the first
five (5) years.
The plan was accepted and the first selections for induction were made. The initial inductions took place at the
Winter School, 1986.
The process of selection includes solicitation of nominations from the membership, screening by a committee and
final vote by the Board (Officers and Directors).
No mandated maximum or minimum number exists.
As might be expected, the early years saw a fairly large number of recognitions, some posthumous, in an effort to
honor the pioneers.
Through the year 2001, only twenty (20) individuals have been so honored. Election to the Hall is a distinct and
prized honor.
